Question #2: Prof. Soprano...or not?

What can you learn about Freudian philosophy from the Sopranos, or vice-versa?

I love this question because I watch the Sopranos religiously. It seems to be like the characters on the sopranos do everything right by the Freudian books. Only instead of dislacing most of their sexual and aggressive desires they just fulfill them through having sex with hookers and killing people. So according to Freud they should all be pretty damn happy. But no. Their problem is that they don't seem to have a strict enough Super Ego which is almost contrary to what Freud would say because they were all treated poorly and beaten by their fathers as children. According to Freud they should have a massive sense of guilt and a super ego like a dominatrix but they continue killing people. They sublimate some of their aggression into gambling or the making of a movie but most of them kill, have sex, or do drugs to get rid of their psychogical problems. Only now is Tony beginning to maybe get a sense of a super ego and the psycholigical concequences of fulfilling all of his desires. So in conclusion, there psyche's are in states of chaos because they go around fulfilling their desires in a society that deems it socially unaccetpable.
